Will try and do more in the future .I find it helps me put my mind elsewhere.

This is what I did today

Coolant change

Cleaned air filter

New spark plugs

New master cylinder

Most fun bike at legal speeds?

Most fun bike at legal speeds?

What do you reckon is the most enjoyable type bike to ride whilst staying within speed limit?

I find having to look out for guards/speed cameras takes the fun out of a sportbike sometimes. I’m trying to find a bike that feels like you’re going a million miles an hour without risking your licence.

Strange Vibration

Strange Vibration

Hey Guys.

Back again. This is a continuation of my last post http://www.biker.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=242486

but decide to open a new one to keeps things neat. 🙂

Well after i sorted ou the issue with the TPS and adjusted the throttle cable slack, the carb cleaning, bench sync the carbs and changed the oil and coolant i took the back for a ride. (Not a long one i am afraid! :frusty:)

The bike it starts to shake kind of loosing power or lack of air/fuel i don’t know after 4k RPM. if i increase the throttle it goes away a bit and the bike picks up speed but it seems to happen once a change gear and try to increase throttle.

I read somewhere some guy having the similar issue and it turned out to be a trapped fuel line underneath the tank. I just had a look at the connections and they seem to be fine to me.

i also read somewhere that it might need to adjust the pilot screw so i did that starting from 2 1/2 turns and adjusting to get a better response. That improved a bit but not much.

I am running out of options and at this point a feel that i am going to throw the towel and get the bike to a shop. (Ah!! after all my work. :woots: )

Anyway… if anyone out there had the same or similar issue and can give me some glue on what is or i am doing wrong here i will appreciate.

Thanks guys and girls :smileee:

Laid up Deauville questions

Laid up Deauville questions

Hi all,

So I’m resurrecting the fathers old trusty steed as my first bike. Its an NT650V Deauville from 99. He has it 14 years as a weekend runabout but looked after it well. He stored the bike 2 years ago for the winter, but in between the dad became unwell and unfortunately won’t be returning to biking, he’s also adamant that the bike stays (not that anyone was going to sell it on him) and was more than happy when I suggested getting onto it after my IBT as I will need to commute when the current job moves location.

Anyway, we had stored the bike in the uncle’s garage. The uncle goes out and runs the engine every so often, but other than that it’s not been on the road.

What should I look at doing with it before getting it out, or should it be good to go as it was running fine when we put it in the garage.

2018 DSR Zero

2018 DSR Zero

I received an email from Principal yesterday with a range of new bike review videos attached. Fair play to them.

That DSR Zero is impressive, even if it does sound a bit like the Luas.

CB500 first time biker

CB500 first time biker

Hello all,

New to all this craic so bear with me. So im 20 years old, and looking to start on an A2 license. Ive ridden mx bikes all my life, and have a mad notion to start on a CB500X/CBR500r. Ive done a lot of research, and i feel theyd be more than adaquate for my daily motorway commute to work, without having to wring the neck out of it, and of course theyre a2 license friendly.

However, im biased, and so would like others opinions, and also, i seem to be having a hard time getting insurance quotes.. as i said complete noob to the world of road bikes so any help appreciated :smileee:
